Gandhi memes or fake Gandhi quotes are a series of dialogues used as parodies to replace the real Mahatma Gandhi quotes. It is usually a statement, question, comment, famous dialogue, or an expression that is edited on a picture of Mahatma Gandhi to mock it as if it was said by him in his days. The context ranges from disapproval to mocking a situation, usually to create intentional comedy and prove one’s point in any given matter.
Origin

Spread on Twitter
The same day, another Twitter user Garima Verma @garima2611 came up with a new fake quote with the caption “Truth is God and truth overrides all our plans.” Truth be told! #ModernDayGandhiQuotes #GandhiJayanti.

Another Twitter user Virat Chaudhary @_imVirat used a new fake Mahatma Gandhi quote while replying to another user called @Ra_bies on 1st Oct 2017 with the caption ‘#ModernDayGandhiQuotes‘.

Following the fake Gandhi quote trend, a user शांत्यां विरम @Binakahelunga also uploaded a quote which was more like a straightforward statement that those who watch shows like ‘Big Boss’ are dumb. (chutiya) This was a majorly propagated idea by Non-Big boss fans. The idea was that the show is utter bullshit and those who watch the show, also belong to the same category of chutiya(s).
