“Enough rhymes to
Maybe try to help get some people through tough times”
Who doesn’t know Eminem? Even the ones who don’t listen to hip-hop or rap music knows who Eminem is. His rap is so distinct and recognizable, always full of motivation, aggression to give you that boost of adrenaline to sail through your toughest of the days. A morning dose of Eminem to give you the right motivation and focus towards your goal. I have chosen to share the best Eminem lyrics in this post.
Also, did you know that Eminem was first offered the movie ‘Southpaw’ before it went to Jake Gyllenhaal. But since he had too much on his plate at that time, he couldn’t do that movie. He liked the script so much and thus wanted to be associated with the movie somehow. So, he chose to provide music for it and also did the song ‘Phenomenal’. Check out these mind blastingm Southpaw movie.
Here are some of the best Eminem lyrics:
1.
“You gotta find that inner strength and just pull that shit out of you. And get that motivation to not give up and not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall on your face and collapse.”
Meaning: After continuous failures, there comes a time when you start doubting yourself. You start thinking that maybe you are not made for this or you don’t have it in you. But in fact, that is the moment when you push yourself beyond self-doubt and bring back that inner motivation to tell you that you are not a quitter.
2.
“Why the fuck not, you only get one shot”
Meaning: Eminem is just trying to convey the message that when you know you only going to get one chance then why not seize it.
3.
“Energized like a nine volt, ice cold
like snake eyes, twice in a row on a dice roll”
Meaning: Eminem is comparing himself to Duracell as it is considered as the best 9 volt battery. Since Energizer bunny is its mascot, so it is a little word play over there. Whereas, snake eyes is again a wordplay which is related to gambling. Also, to completely understand the meaning of the second line I recommend you to visit genius.
4.
“Stackin’ ammunition, slap the clip in, cock it back on competition”
Meaning: It literally translates to the sequence of loading a gun. It means you stack the bullets and fill it in the clip after which you load it in the gun and finally aim at your opponents. This is a metaphor to describe that you collect your words and ready your verses. Then remember and load it in your brain and then aim at your competitors in a rap battle.
5.
“You mention me, millions of views, attention in news,
I mention you, lose-lose for me, win-win for you”
This has a very clever yet true meaning. Eminem describes how his competition and haters take benefit of his fame and fans. Because he has an extremely huge fan following, when his haters mention him to criticize him, it catches the attention of media as well as Eminem’s fans. Thus, ultimately his haters get to receive fame by criticizing him.
And if Eminem would choose to respond back to him, it would again be a loss for him as his fans would know further about the person who proved worthy enough of Eminem’s response.
6.
“Soon as the verse start I eat it at MC’s heart,
What is he thinking? How not to go against me, smart.”
Meaning: Eminem metaphor that if I am in a rap battle and its my turn to start, I straight in the very first line destroy the reputation of my opponent. And because of that during my rap battles, all these opponents think about how to avoid me, which is a smart move.
7.
“Imma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly
And all those who look down on me I’m tearing down your balcony”
Meaning: Eminem talks about how much dedicated he is to his dream and there is not a single doubt that he will achieve what he want in his life. And he has beautifully described two instances in one line and did a poetic justice. He means that if there is anyone who doubts him and his capabilities, he is coming at them and will slay such hopes by becoming huge success.
On the other hand is directly creating a reference and letting his listeners imagine that he is walking on the road while all the people who doubt him are standing in the balconies watching him, so he is flying and tearing it down to kill their doubts.
8.
“I took my bruises, took my lumps
Fell down and I got right back up”
Meaning: Eminem is describing how many times he has failed in his life really bad but he always motivated himself and kept moving forward towards his life goal.
9.
“Don’t ever try to judge me, dude
You don’t what the fuck I’ve been through”
Meaning: Eminem is telling that the things I’ve faced is not ordinary and thus you have no idea because you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. So, you better not judge me.
10.
“Had a dream, I was king,
I woke up, still king”
Meaning: Eminem is describing how he used to dream of rising to the top of the rap game and how he has achieved it. Just a poetic reference to dreaming of being like a king and waking up and realizing that I am a king.
11.
“When you’re so good that you can’t say it
’cause it ain’t even cool for you to sound cocky anymore”
Meaning: Eminem describes about a situation that we all face when we know that we are best in a particular topic. And when in that situation someone tries to argue to prove that he is right while you are absolutely sure that that’s not how it is, you rather choose to stay quite in that moment and let him experience and fail at it for not taking your advice. Because for a man of your stature, it doesn’t suit to boast about your expertise.
12.
“Like a magician, critics I turn to crickets”
Meaning: Eminem is simply taking a dig at all of the people who criticize him for what he is and hate him because he is a success. He doesn’t pay attention at them just like we ignore crickets creating noises in the night.
